Leader Of Boko Haram Sect, Found Alive After Being Shot dead Some Days Back.

Leader of the most dreaded and wanted Boko Haram Terrorists, Abubakar Shekau, yesterday, Wednesday, said the Nigerian Military should bury itself in shame because he is alive.
photo
Shekau also claimed responsibility of Tuesday, 17th September, 2013 attacks in Benisheik, Borno State where over 160 people were either shot dead or slaughtered and hundreds of houses burnt.
The then Joint Task Force (JTF) spokesman in Borno State, Lt Col Sagir Musa, had issued a statement on 19th August, 2013 to the effect that “Intelligence report available to the Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation Restore Order revealed that Abubakar Shekau, the most dreaded and wanted terrorists leader may have died.
He died of gunshots wounds received in an encounter with the JTF in one of their camps in Sambisa Forest on 30th June, 2013.
“Shekau was mortally wounded in the encounter and was sneaked into Amitchide-a border community in Cameroon for treatment from which he never recovered,” the JTF statement said.
But in the latest video, Shekau who appeared in military camouflage uniform, seated and surrounded by hooded insurgents said “Here I am, alive, hale and hearty.
Sagir Musa should bury himself in shame, President Jonathan (of Nigeria) should bury himself in shame, President Obama (of United States of America) should bury himself in shame, and President Francois Hollande (of France) should bury himself in shame, Queen Elizabeth (of England) should bury herself in shame,” he said.
According to Shekau, “They said I am dead, but here I am. The world should know that I am alive and will only die at the appointed time. Everybody should be judged according to the dictates of his conscience. What I am doing is written in the Holy Qur’an and the Hadith and I will not stop. I challenge all the clerics of the world to question my deeds. Those underrating my capacity should have a re-think. I will never allow democracy to thrive.
“The concept of Government of the people by the people for the people will never be possible and will never exist. Democracy shall be replaced only by the government of Allah, from Allah and for Allah,” he said.
He said the Nigerian military will never subdue his group. “Nigerian soldiers are late. After killing many of them in Monguno and Benisheik, we have snatched their armoured carriers and Hilux van and then hoisted Islamic flags on them. We now move freely with them,” he said.
Well, this sounds like a fake to me, but we cant be so sure so we have to take precaution. But i have to admit, this is creepy.

Rihanna's Thailand Pictures Leads To Arrest.

Rihanna has inadvertently helped police in Thailand crack down on the illegal animal trade after a picture showing her posing with a protected primate prompted a series of arrests.

The singer, Rihanna, enjoyed a short vacation in Phuket last week while on a break from her Diamonds world tour, and she documented her trip in pictures posted on her Twitter and Instagram pages. One shot posted on Friday showed Rihanna posing with a slow loris, a local squirrel-like creature which is listed as a protected species, and the snap prompted an investigation into whether the animals are being illegally used as a tourist attraction.
Thai police arrested two men, aged 20 and 16, on suspicion of possessing protected animals on Saturday night, according to the Associated Press. Phuket district chief, Weera Kerdsirimongkon, says, "Phuket authorities were alerted to the picture (of Rihanna), and last night police arrested the two individuals who brought out the loris as a photo opportunity for tourists... It's like a cat-and-mouse game. But this time it's bigger because a celebrity like Rihanna posted the picture, and there were more than 200,000 'likes' from around the world for this Rihanna's picture."
The unnamed suspects face up to four years in prison and a fine if found guilty.
Rihanna flew out of Thailand on Saturday.

Inter Milan Beats Sassuolo 7 - 0

Inter Milan's Diego Milito scored twice on his long-awaited return from injury as Inter Milan humbled promoted Serie A strugglers Sassuolo 7-0 on Sunday to go provisionally top of the table.
Argentinian striker Milito has been sidelined for the past seven months after suffering a terrible knee injury at the start of the year.
But a week after making Walter Mazzarri's squad for a 1-1 draw at home to Juventus, the striker made his first appearance since damaging his anterior cruciate ligament on February 14 when he replaced Rodrigo Palacio nine minutes into the second half.
Fellow Argentinian Palacio got Inter off the mark after only seven minutes at the Mapei stadium when he slid Yuto Nagatomo's perfect cross from the left flank past outstretched 'keeper Alberto Pomini.
Midfielder Saphir Taider then grabbed his maiden goal for Inter, firing a loose ball past Pomini in the 23rd minute.
And the French-born Algerian played a pivotal role in Inter's third when his header came off Raffaele Pucino for an own goal barely 10 minutes later.
Sassuolo showed brief promise after the break when former Inter midfielder Ezequiel Schelotto whipped in an inviting cross which flew past the boot of unmarked striker Simone Missiroli.
However Inter were soon back on the rampage. Three minutes later a Palacio drive was blocked by Pomini and Ricardo Alvarez was on hand to poke him Inter's fourth.
Milito replaced Palacio a minute later and soon made an impact, tapping the ball past the beaten Pomini after Alvarez had done well to get the ball to the striker yards from goal.
Esteban Cambiasso added to Sassuolo's woes when he fired a superb drive past the flailing home 'keeper from the edge of the penalty area in the 75th minute.
Milito capped a memorable return to the fray with his second after Fredy Guarin provided a perfect ball for the unmarked striker in the 83rd minute.
Inter now sit top with 10 points from four games although Roma, currently third on nine, will take the lead if they beat Lazio in the city derby on Sunday afternoon.
Wow, what a shameful defeat, not even a goal to compensate, its like playing a video game with a novice, *lol...

They were discovered on the 11th of September, but wasn't publicised until yesterday, being Saturday, 21st of September.
The French, Dutch, British, Spanish and Venezuela's authorities seems to be investigating from all angles to find the person(s) responsible for the bags of cocaine found aboard the plane and was confirmed to have come from Caracas to Paris.
Wow, if you ask me, I'll say investigations should start from the security at the loading terminal at Caracas, Venezuela.

60+ Killed In Blast At Church.

Officials say that a bomb blast outside a church in the Pakistani city of Peshawar has killed at least 60 people and injured more than 100 others.
It was confirmed that two suicide bombers blew themselves up while coming out from church after a Sunday mass killing a number of people. The people involved in the killings included women and children.
Islamist militants have been blamed for previous attacks on Pakistan's Christian people, who make up about 1.6 percent of the country's mainly Muslim population. No group has admitted carrying out the attack.
Witnesses said they heard two blasts, the second more powerful than the first.

About 500 to 600 people were believed to have been inside the church at the time.
Grieving relatives have gathered to identify their relatives.
Bombings every where, things are really getting out of hand world wide. I wish we knew who to cry to for help.

Yvonne Vixen Ekwere- I Auction My Clothes Because I cant Wear Them Twice.

Yvonne Ekwere gives us the reason why she and some other celebrities don't wear the same dress twice. Whenever I am on the Red Carpet and paparazzi take my pictures of me with my dress, I always say ‘chei! So I will not wear this dress again?’
The pictures will be plastered everywhere including the Internet and magazines. It spoils show for me. It is not that we don’t like wearing a particular dress for more than one event, but we’ll rather not do it.
But you will abuse me if I repeat a dress. People would write that we repeated a dress. Because of that, I wear a dress and since I know I will not wear it again, I dash it out. I give my assistant my dresses.
I give to family members and friends as well. But then, I auction my dresses to my friends on twitter. See picture of Yvonne below:

ASUU Vows To Continue Strike.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has blamed the rot in the Nigerian education on the Executive Secretary of the National University Commission, Julius Okojie, saying his failure to insist on quality is affected the system.
photo
The lecturers also vowed to carry on with the strike action unless the federal government consents to the 2009 agreement it had with the union.
In a statement signed by the University of Ibadan branch chairman, Olusegun Ajiboye, ASUU renewed its call for the scraping or a total overhaul of the regulatory institution if the nation wishes to get it right in university education management.
While calling on the National Assembly to look in to the activities of the NUC, Mr. Ajiboye said the recent NEEDS assessment report on universities reflects how much the commission has failed in its duties as a regulator.
According to him, the report undertaken by genuine academics contradicts NUC’s accreditation exercises which gave ‘controversial’ clean bill of health to most universities through “magomago accreditation.”
The union contended that only in a society like ours would Mr. Okojie still remain in office after being heavily indicted in the report.
Mr. Okojie had, last week, absorbed his commission of any wrongdoing in the rot plaguing public universities in the country, particularly as regards undeserved accreditation, blaming members of the ASUU instead.
Mr. Ajiboye, who described the statement credited to the NUC boss as ‘careless’, accused Mr. Okojie of using his cronies who can do his biddings to embark on accreditation.
He said the success of the 2011 elections was based on the patriotic zeal and contributions of genuine and patriotic ASUU members nationwide saying that was why the election was free of hanky-pansy recorded in past elections.

Gunmen Machete Monarch, Kidnap Wife In Enugu

Wife of the traditional ruler of Abba- Igogoro in Igbo Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, Igwe Omale Nwogbo, Adiza, has been kidnapped by unknown persons who invaded her home last week.
photo
The woman was kidnapped few days after some armed men invaded the palace and inflicted machete cuts on her husband before shooting at three other persons with him in his palace at about 8pm.
According to police sources, the traditional ruler was meeting with some people in his Igogoro palace when the gunmen struck and reportedly shot one Joshua Urama at the back while Igwe Ogbo himself, Emmanuel Tobechukwu Idoko and Sunday Ogbo sustained injuries on their heads and faces. Igwe Ogbo was said to have been reportedly given three machete cuts on his head.
The attack took place at a time members of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the local government were holding the Ward Congress at Enugu Ezike to elect delegates for last Saturday’s local government congress to elect chairmanship candidates for the local government election slated later in the year.
Igwe Nwogbo and and the other victims who sustained serious bullet wounds, were later rushed to the Bishop Shanahan Hospital Annex in Enugu Ezike, the council headquarters for urgent medical attention.

The police were still trying the unravel the reasons behind the attack on Igwe Ogbo when his wife was abducted.

Cheating Couple Parraded Naked In The Street

A woman who was said to have been involved in adultery was caught and forced to walk naked with her partner in Benue State.
photo
The incident was said to have occurred on September 19 at Orokam, Obadigbo Local Government area of the state
Apparently the woman pictured above is said to be the wife of a popular school proprietor in the area. She lost her husband on Tuesday, and was accused by her husband’s people of committing adultery which she admitted she was guilty of.

Further revelation by members of Orokam stated that there is an oracle called “ALEKWU” in that town which punishes married women that cheats on their husbands and also deters people from committing atrocities.

The Oracle supposedly issues out a warning to the husband of any adulterous woman of which if he fails to take appropriate actions or return to the village from wherever he is to perform the proper rites for cleansing himself and his family, he will die.

What do you think of the woman's punishment?

Stow Away Teenager Becomes One Of Oshiomole's Children.

13-year-old boy, Daniel Oikhena has become popular and luck definitely has smiled on him probably not what he bargained for, all thanks to the attention he has been getting after he was caught hiding in tyre hole of Arik plane on the 24th of August. Governor Adams Oshiomhole who had an interview with the boy & meeting with the boy's family discovered the boy wasn't a threat but as a matter of fact intelligent, this prompted the government into directing Women Affairs Ministry to take over the boy's training in order to afford Daniel the opportunity to realize his life’s ambition which has always been to fly a plane to America, as a pilot.
The mother,  Evelyn is also not left out, according to her “It is even difficult for me to see him some times because he is undergoing some training and that is being taken care of by the state government. I no longer have powers over him. It was even recently that I was able to see him.
They decided to allow me see him because they were preparing him to go back to school. The only thing I can say now is that the father and his people are bothering my life. They think the state government gave me money and,  rather than think about the welfare of the boy, they think  it is all about money. They accused me of saying  my husband was sick or was even dead but I never said all that and God knows”.
But I thank God for his mercy and that is why it is painful, rather for the father to be grateful to God that the son survived in that aircraft, all they have been accusing me is money from government. I am just saying it because if anything happens to me, they should be held responsible since they want to kill me for something I know nothing about.
Right from day one, I have been running up and down about Daniel’s matter, none of them cared about what I went through with my children. My daughters are supposed to have gone back to school now but due to no money they have not gone back. Their father does not care about that and it is very sad really”.
Meanwhile, Sunday Vanguard saw Daniel on his first day at school on  Monday. It was during their break period. Clad in sparkling white shirt and dark green short, the stowaway boy was seen with other students playing. Daniel is in JSS 1 and  a boarding student. You can only watch Daniel from afar, you are not allowed to get close to him.
Other students were surrounding him. Apart from the plain clothes security operatives that were observed around him, his teachers were always around  as if they were instructed to monitor him 24 hours. According to a top official of the school unless there was an instruction from the Edo Government House, no one is allowed to talk to him on the matter.
He said: “You know that he is a government son now; so the instruction is to ensure that he is well monitored both for security reason and his education.  So it is difficult for anyone to speak with him. The idea is to ensure that he forget about what happened at the airport and concentrate in his studies and, so far, the boy is doing well.
We want him to catch up with all he has missed academically because we understand he was in a private school before but due to no money he was almost becoming a drop out. Before he enrolled here we were told that he told government he prefers this school.
And that  is why he was registered here. And if you look at our history, you will know that majority of the great men and women from this state attended this school, so the boy may be in another journey to glory here”.
It is said that Daniel has joined the league of those referred to as Oshiomhole’s children going by the situation around him. These children are about 20, in different schools, and enjoying sponsorship from governor. It was learnt that government officials have instructions to  take  care of the children who  must enjoy the privileges accruing to the children of  governor.

Nigeria Security Agents Slaughtered Innocent Poor Squatters In Abuja Believed To Be "Boko Haram"

SaharaReporters can authoritatively confirm that the eight persons shot and killed by Nigerian security agents in Abuja on Friday were in no way connected to the dreaded Boko Haram sect as claimed by the spokesperson of the Nigerian secret police, Marilyn Ogar. The scene of the killings was an uncompleted building at Bamanga Tukur Street in the Apo Legislative Quarters, picture below:
Seventeen of the people who survived the killings by uninformed men of the Joint Task Force, (JTF), on their hospital bed spoke to reporters and confirmed that they were not members of the militant group, Boko Haram.
One of the survivors said they are day labourers who work in the city to make ends meet, and later squat in uncompleted buildings by paying the guards attached to those buildings. This morning, he said, they were woken up by a surprising hail of bullets from the uniformed.
Providing some background, he disclosed that an emissary of an army general had given them a five-day quit notice but that today’s slaughter was carried out before they could move from the building.
Nigerian security agents insist that they killed the civilians after they first came under attack while trying to dig out weapons hidden underground by the insurgents, but one of the injured squatters told SaharaReporters categorically that the soldiers fled the scene after finding out they had killed innocent civilians.
“It was after the attack that some policemen and the SSS came to the scene and even tried to help those of us that survived to get to hospital,” he said.
This looks like some form of conspiracy to me, be cause if they were recovering weapons and got attacked, that should be their excuse for retaliating, running away means they were wrong all the way.

Last year, Mikel Obi joined the elite group of Nigerians to win the coveted UEFA Champions League as Chelsea, under manager Roberto Di Matteo, defeated Bayern Munich 4-3 in Germany, becoming only the fourth English team to win the title.
Before Mikel’s success, Nwankwo Kanu and Finidi George were the only Nigerians to win the competition with Ajax in 1995.
This season, Mikel tops a list of six Nigerians in the race for the title as they all look to enrich their profiles in world football.
Mikel and his club, Chelsea, started their campaign on a poor note on Wednesday, unexpectedly losing 2-1 to visiting Basel at Stamford Bridge. Mikel did not start the game but was introduced in the 76th minute, replacing Marco van Ginkel as manager, Jose Mourinho, sought to change the game without success.
Chelsea’s next game is against Steaua Bucuresti on October 1.
Celtic are not favourites to win this year’s Champions League and it was no surprise when they lost 2-0 to AC Milan in Italy on Wednesday. Efe Ambrose, however, had an impressive outing with the Scottish team as he displayed his aerial prowess to deny Milan from set pieces. He partnered well with Van Dijk to keep Matri and Balotelli at bay. The 77th minute yellow card he got in the game did little to slow him down.
Last season, Ambrose won the Scottish league and the Scottish Cup, leaving him the Champions League as the next big thing to win in Europe.
His next challenge is to devise means of stopping Lionel Messi when Celtic host Barcelona on October 1.
Fanendo Adi was only unlucky not to bag his first goal in the competition on Tuesday as he helped Danish Supa Liga champions, København, to a 1-1 draw against Juventus.
The 22-year-old striker had a few chances against the Italian giants but failed to take his chances. He was substituted for Rúrik Gíslason in the 70th minute.
Adi joined the Danish champions in the summer after two seasons in Slovenia playing for Trenčín. He will travel with the team to face Real Madrid in Spain on October 2.
Michael Olaitan was not listed for Olympiakos Piraeus of Greece when they hosted and lost 4-1 to Paris Saint-Germain at the Georgios Karaiskáki Stadium. The Flying Eagles midfielder has only made one league appearance for the Greek champions since joining them in the summer from rivals Veria.
Ahmed Musa could not help CSKA survive the German onslaught on Tuesday as Bayern Munich continued from where they stopped last season, dominating their opponents in the Champions League.
Musa’s movement, until he was substituted in the 74th minute, was continually checked by the European champions as David Alaba, Mario Mandžukić and Arjen Roben struck thrice to seal victory at home.
The former Kano Pillars player will be back when they host Viktoria Plzeň on October 2.
Former Hoffenheim striker, Chinedu Ogbuke, was not listed in the Schalke 04 match against Steaua Bucureşti as the German team romped to a 3-0 victory at home. Ogbuke has not made any appearance for the Bundesliga side this season; he made only four appearances for the team last season.

Russia Cancels Selena Gomez's Shows Due To Her Support Of Gay Rights

Due to selena's gay rights support, she has cancelled two shows scheduled to be held in Russia next week as the country refused to let her in. Selena Gomez had been scheduled to perform in St. Petersburg on September 23 and in Moscow on September 25.
According to The Moscow Times, ''authorities in Russia have decided to make entry more difficult for foreign performers following Madonna and Lady Gaga’s open advocacy for LGBT equality in the wake of that country’s controversial law banning the promotion of “nontraditional sexual relationships.”
Lady Gaga slammed the Russian government for what she described as its “criminal” stance on gay citizens, and Madonna is currently being sued for her support of the LGBT community.
Organizers have been forced to scrap the Selena shows.
Selena, one question. Why?

24-Hour Curfew Imposed in Southern Kaduna as Scores Killed in Ethnic Clashes

Naij.com:
The Kaduna State Government has declared a 24-hour curfew in Kafanchan, following bloody fighting between ethnic indigene groups in Southern Kaduna and settler elements of Hausa-Fulani dwelling in the area.
A security source of SaharaReporters told by telephone that at least five persons were killed in the fighting.
The bloody clash was also confirmed by an elderly Yoruba resident of Kafanchan, an otherwise quiescent town that used to be known as a railway hub. The man said the assaults flared up again on September 19, 2013, Thursday, after armed soldiers had earlier quelled a skirmish last Sunday.
The security operative disclosed that indigenes of Southern Kaduna and Hausa-Fulani youths engaged in a free-for-all fight using machetes, spears and a few guns. Apart from the dead, many people also sustained varying degrees of injury.
The source said, “I can confirm to you that attacks started yesterday between the indigenes and settlers. And several people were killed before [the] government declared 24 hours curfew today. As we speak, we are in the streets patrolling and all residents are now indoors.”
The security agent said yesterday’s attack appeared to be reprisals for the death of a young man who was killed last Sunday.
It was not possible to receive the confirmation from Mr. Olufemi Adenaike, the Police Commissioner of Kaduna State. However, a police officer in Kaduna said the commissioner and military authorities in Kaduna had deployed troops to the trouble areas to beef up security and contain any threats that might escalate attacks.

Real Reason Why Federal Government Does Not Want ASUU Strike To End

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has been on strike since June 30 and has dialogued with FG over 11 times, albeit, inconclusively.
An agreement was reached in 2009 that all federal universities would require a total sum of N1.5 trillion spread over three years (2009-2011) to address the rot and decay in the univers
An agreement was reached in 2009 that all federal universities would require a total sum of N1.5 trillion spread over three years (2009-2011) to address the rot and decay in the universities with strike prevention.
But, in the Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, signed between the union and the government in 2012, FG decided to extend the gesture to include both federal and state universities. After the 2012 review, it was agreed that instead of N1.5 trillion, FG would infuse a total of N1.3 trillion into the universities over four years.
Its been four years now and the federal government has refused to hold up their end of the bargain, this caused for the strike action.  ASUU says they are willing to hold the strike for years if the federal government doesn't pay up the bill claiming that it is to re-vitalize the Nigerian universities and prevent further strikes.
After long tries to make ASUU stop the strike action but to no avail, the federal government boycotted ASUU to summon a meeting with Pro-Chancellors and Vice-Chancellors of universities, offering them N130 billion with a matching order to lecturers to resume work immediately.
But the union is insisting that by throwing money at universities in that manner, government has repudiated the 2009 agreement it entered freely with the union and the 2012 MoU. ASUU is not making any fresh demand but has maintained that the 2009 agreement must be honoured.
From this cut, it's clear that the government are not ready ro meet the demands of ASUU and in turn, ASUU wouldnt consider being the lesser team, the strike seems to have a long time more to hold...
Students with businesses, u can go back to it, this strike would last a long time from the looks of thing.

Charles Novia backs NBC’s ban on Wizkid and Phyno

On social media, a predictable furor has been generated by the NBC’s action. Fans and friends of the concerned artists have been expressing their angst over the ban with some asking what yardstick was used in placing such a ban. As amusing and sometimes annoying one finds some of those comments, which I think stem from an emotive viewpoint rather than logical, I have to pity such commentators because I believe they actually are the ones the songs have corrupted in the first place.
In Today’s entertainment sector, sex is king. The more sex the music videos suggest, the better for the artistes, music video directors and even the stations. I have repeatedly screamed at various interactive music fora that these days, when watching the Nigerian television channels either on terrestrial or satellite bouquets, one cannot differentiate between the lewd music videos and soft porn!
It is also alarming and befuddling that many of the musical acts getting brand endorsements here and there are nothing to write home about when it comes to the lyrical content of their songs or the moral appropriateness of their music videos! These young Turks sing blatantly about sex without giving a hoot about the most important audience of all; the children.
If they don’t know it, they should be told that children are quite impressionable and what goes into a child’s mind visually can either distort that child’s moral progression or improve on the child’s human development as time goes on. But do SOME of these repressed reprobates in the music sector care? Not in the least!
The more raunchy the music videos are, the better for the rascals. Just to buttress my point, have you guys seen the way most Nigerian kids dance to some of these songs at children’s parties? It’s all about winding their waist and even twerking much to either the amusement or amazement of their parents. Yes, thanks to these accursed music videos, we are breeding a new generation of morally bankrupt youths who just need a little prod in their subconscious minds to become the future terrors of the New Republic of Sexual Nigeria! Mark my words.
And I won’t lay the blame on the artistes alone. The radio and television stations which fight over themselves to broadcast those songs and videos are as guilty in this regard. Perhaps too, the music video directors who come up with such concepts.
The NBC too is as hypocritical with these bans as it is sometimes inept. I would suggest a total overhaul of their monitoring unit, if my opinion is asked. I mean, why would they wait for months after such songs must have gained heavy rotation on radio and television before they use their hammer? What kind of crass dereliction of duty is that?
The relatively new Director-General of the NBC, Mr Emeka Mba, is well known to me. He just assumed duty a few weeks ago and I believe he should make it his duty to clean up the airwaves. And please, no double standards! There are worse American and even African music videos and audio tracks ravaging our airwaves which the NBC don’t know jack about! Some radio On Air Personalities take delight in playing some lewd songs with the ‘F’ word bleeped at times. A few months back, I was driving in the same car with a Reverend Gentleman and we had one of those FM stations on the car radio that afternoon. Akon’s song with the chorus ‘ I wanna f**k you…f**k you out on the floor…’assaulted our ears. On radio? I had to join the shocked Reverend Father in making the sign of the cross even though I had switched to Pentecostalism years ago! Such was the shock.
We all have witnessed how Wizkid slyly came into the scene a few years ago. I use the word ‘slyly’ because his first single ‘Holla at your boy’ was a neat teen-pop track which was family friendly and won him a huge fan base across continents. Having achieved his aim, his next couple of singles introduced the lyrical direction of his debut album. ‘Tease me’ was a daring post-pubescent song which extolled his plea for sexual freedom and also a blatant praise of his mojo. ‘Na me be the bad guys’ he crows. The accompanying video to that track was as suggestively lewd with pole-dancing girls doing some randy stuff. The clean boy image of Whizkid took a back seat and thereon his handlers and producers tried to sell him as a post-teen sex symbol.
So, it was no surprise to the discerning ones amongst us when his new singles were laced with overtly raunchy suggestiveness. Let us examine the lyrics of the banned single in question; ‘Back to the matter, open and close, touch your toes, oya baby..,’.! May your children grow up in the ways of the Lord.
I have nothing against the hard working Whizkid, in case some puerile minds begin to think in their usual template that ‘what’s Novia’s own?’ Or ‘He’s just jealous of Whizkid’s success’ which is a usual conclusion when critiques like these meant to correct an anomaly raise some dust.
I actually enjoy most of the young man’s clean songs as much as I abhor his lewd ones. This is basically a call to him and others of his ilk to go inwards and re-engineer their lyrics. Better still as Gbemi Olateru Olagbegi of Beat FM tweeted, they should go the extra mile in producing clean radio edit versions of some of their songs.
Phyno is one interesting rap artiste I have been studying. He joins the league of rappers who rap in native lingo, following the footsteps of his artistic heralders, 2Shotz and Dat NIGGA Raw. Phyno understands the essence of showmanship and personal branding, what with his unique Mohawk hairstyle and his style of dressing. I don’t understand Igbo very well but I have listened to the banned song ‘Man of the Year’ for controversial or lewd lyrics as well as his other songs. Here are some words I found; ‘Okereke okereke.. My guys no abaleke… N’ekperem ekpere Sika m fepu ka chekeleke Si mu kuwa k’elekera Na ezem k’ekelebe Ebughim otu mana m ga n’egbu ha ebelebe …)Something wey don enter don enter but if e nor gree enter, make you rub vaseline’)
Please someone explain a bit to me about the meaning of some of his suggestiveness in those words? I think that is why the NBC banned the song.
In any case, Phyno is one act to watch. I don’t really rate him as a fantastic emcee but he’s commercial and would go far…somehow.
There are some Nigeria music videos which I would personally recommend for non-broadcast and I hope the NBC takes note somehow. This recommendation is without fear or favour and I must state too that it does not in anyway detract from the amazing talents of the artistes who I give props to for raising the bar in their chosen field. However, while they are raising the bar, I and millions of concerned parents are raising our kids so please ‘make una nor spoil my blues with una razz ragga’. Shikena.
Wande Coal’s ‘KICK’ video should be banned off the national television space. Seriously, have you seen the ladies shaking their bums in that video? For the pious and piety men reading this, I would advise you not to bother checking it out. Especially if you just came out of a spititual fasting regimen like I had just done when I saw the video. Needless to say I resumed my fasting with more vigour after that. If Timaya’s ‘shake your bum bum’ video was sexually provocative, Coal’s ‘Kick’ video gave a double provocation with two bum-shakers.
Olamide is a great musical act who is making waves at present. We all have watched his gradual ascent for the past couple of years and he has succeeded in filling a void left open by the late Dagrin. I have my reservations about his latest video ‘Durosoke’ but that is not the video I’m recommending for non-broadcast. There’s one he calls ‘Stupid love’ which I believe promotes alcoholic inebriation; which I presume to be against the broadcasting rules.
In the video, Olamide in almost every cut is seen clutching a green bottle suggestively filled with either rum or brandy or some strong coloured spirits. He takes deliberate swigs from the bottle and even chants at a point in the song about feeling ‘high’. This video gets massive airplay on national stations. I think it should be yanked off. Oh yes, some may argue that there’s no proof that the contents in that bottle is alcohol. Balderdash! Why don’t such people argue that the ‘yanshes’ they see in some of the music videos I mentioned above are harmless to the psyche of the children? And not only children too, come to think of it!
There are quite a few more I could recommend but why would I do the NBC’s job for them? Isn’t that one of their functions as a Commission?
It is high time we cleaned up the airwaves. Let those who wish to listen to lewd songs or watch raunchy music videos do so on other media. It is a sin the way we corrupt the minds of our children in the name of artistic licence.

>This guy actually made some sense, but are they really going to ban these artistes?

Wizkid shoots new music video in london.
The video was shot by familiar visuals collaborator Mr Moe Musa and styled by Toyin Lawani of TiannahStyling.
Although the Star Boy boss has been releasing new video and songs almost every week, the anticipation for his second studio album remains at an all time high as the videos are one of the most antcipated.

Maheeda Shares Sexy Photos

Nigerian singer, Caroline Sam, aka, caused quite a stir when she revealed she was once a prostitute and is now a born-again christian.
Seems that part of her life is still in there somewhere because she shared a few sexual that can only be described as “unchristian” but then again she must have taken those pictures before she turned.
Reports have it that she became an orphan at the tender age of 13 and had to to resort to prostitution to survive
On her becoming a born again now, she says:
“…Even after getting married I still have this urge of going out to meet a man. But I felt it should not be so. I’m trying to let people know there is a spirit behind prostitution, if not, why after getting married, I have everything, I live in Lekki, I’m driving a very big car and my husband gives me whatever I want, so why would I still feel like going into prostitution? There is a spirit behind it. I continued prostitution even after getting married. The only thing that changed me was being born again and being delivered.”
