According to Mrs. Kehinde Falade, the prosecuting counel for The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Person (NAPTIP), the accused intimidated and “forcefully had carnal knowledge of the teenager”, who eventually became pregnant.
The matter was adjourned till October 21 for the hearing of the accused person’s bail application.
The court will also, on the day, hear an application by the accused, challenging the court’s jurisdiction to entertain the suit.
The accused person’s alleged offences were said to have contravened Sections 13 (1) and 18 (a) of the Trafficking in persons (Prohibition) Law Enforcement Act 2003.
